WINTER NEWS

     There is an ongoing book sale upstairs in our library.     All books are half price. Hardcovers are .50 cents and paperbacks are .25 cents.  Come see the new additions to the sale! We have added VHS movies to the sale! 

     Our knitting and crocheting club meets every Tuesday from 1:00 to 3:00 at the library.Come join the fun on a Tuesday afternoon!

     Our Adult Bunco Club usually meets once a month at 6:00pm.  Dates will vary due to holidays. Call the library for more information. Next one will be January 24th at 6:00.

      Also,the Bridge Class will continue for the spring  & summer months.  They meet on Mondays at 11:30 PM.

     Our next Library Board meeting will be March 12, 2012 at 7:00 at the library. The public is welcome to attend.

      The Ashland Public Library employees and its Board of Directors would like to thank everyone that purchased tickets on our fundraiser.  The winners of the wooden crafts are as follows:  1st prize-Cheryl Heyer, 2nd prize-Janet Constantine, and 3rd prize-Janet Paulukonis.

          On Saturday, March 3rd at 10:00 am, there will be another "Toddler Time" at our library. Children ages 0 to 2yrs will be invited to attend.  Call the library at 875-3175 to register your child for this event! 

STORY HOUR

The children had lots of fun at our Christmas Story Hour! Santa made a surprise appearance and gave each child a prize.  The children enjoyed cookies and juice while waiting to get to talk to Santa.  Our Spring Story Hour will be held on March 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 31st.  Watch the papers for sign-ups!

                    LIBRARY FUNDING UPDATE 

           In Govenor Tom Corbett's state budget, libraries in Pennsylvania will see another decrease in funding for the 2011-2012 budget year.   Gov. Corbett wants to reduce the 4 billion dollar deficit by cutting funding for education.  This will include schools, universities, and libraries.    If you would like to voice your opinion to Govenor Corbett or any of your representatives contact them at the address below:
